Roscoff
Historically a haven for privateers and the port from which the bicycling ‘Johnnies’ set out to sell their onions (oignons rosés) in Britain, Roscoff (‘Rosko’ in Breton) was designated one of Brittany’s ‘Petites Cités de Caractère’ in 1976, and is both a modern holiday resort and a historic town that has preserved its superb architectural heritage from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Renowned too for its iodine-rich sea air and gentle climate maintained by an ocean current that fluctuates only between 8°C and 18°C, Roscoff offers many faces to its visitors today.
It is the ideal destination for anyone who wants to sail, look at nature, explore, have a party, take a seawater cure (thalassotherapy), or enjoy the many other activities on offer for the whole family.
Like all the towns of the Brittany coast, Roscoff has been shaped by the turbulent sea. Now it is where your peace of mind begins.
