Nature and Gardens

L'Île de Batz (‘Enez Vaz’ in Breton) is a small island off the coast of Roscoff offering visitors a complete change of scenery. The north is wild moorland, while the south side, protected from the weather, is full of brightly coloured gardens. The 10 km coastal path is easily walkable, and regular ferries make the crossing from Roscoff every day of the year.


Le Jardin Georges Delaselle at the eastern end of the island is noteworthy for its rich collection of exotic plants as well as a Bronze Age necropolis and a 17th-century calvary.


Le Jardin Exotique et Botanique de Roscoff. Roscoff’s Exotic and Botanic Garden, now covers 1.6 hectares and is home to a collection of more than 3,500 species of subtropical and southern-hemisphere plants. It is dominated by an 18m-high rock whose summit provides a superb panoramic view of Roscoff’s new marina and the Bay of Morlaix.

Hiking and exploration

Roscoff is an ideal starting point for a local hike or exploration further afield.


Roscoff – Three gentle walks will give you the chance to discover the town for yourself. Please ask at Reception for a brochure giving details of the suggested itineraries.



The Parish Cloistures - Among the greatest treasures of Brittany’s religious heritage are the parish cloistures.



Château du Taureau - This magnificent 16th-century maritime fortress in the Bay of Morlaix can be visited between April and September. Guided tours depart from Carantec and Plougasnou.

Beaches


Rockroum. A five-minute walk from the hotel and facing due west, this pretty family beach is equipped with a diving board, showers and a sea-water pool and is supervised thoughout the summer.


Dossen at Santec. Opposite the Île de Sieck, the beach of Dossen consists of 1.5 km of fine sand and is one of the most popular centres in North Finistère for wind-surfing, surfing and kite-surfing.

Centre Nautique de Roscoff

The Roscoff Nautical Centre provides professional training approved by l’Ecole Française de Voile (French School of Sailing).

Accompanied trips for all in sailing boats, kayaks or along the beach (March to November).


Centre de Glisse de Santec

Enjoy trips, courses and rentals at the water-skiing centre ‘Rêves de Mer’ at Santec in sand yachting, kayaking, water-walking, surfing, bodyboarding and standup paddleboarding. The water-skiing centre is open every day in July and August.


Sea trips

All types of sailing excursions and fishing trips in the Bay of Morlaix. Boat hire up to ten people, with or without a skipper.
